About META ARTE

Since 2005, META ARTE LLC has worked with private collectors, philanthropists and public art collections. Over those years, we’ve helped our clients develop and manage compelling collections: bold public artworks for Vulcan Real Estate’s developments in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood (including Amazon.com’s headquarters) and equally striking collections for private residences. We’re also thrilled to have worked on a number of philanthropic projects and as collection management consultants to the Washington State Arts Commission, the University of Washington and the Sound Transit Art Program.

At the heart of our work with private collectors is our professionalism and respect for clients’ privacy. We work hard to maintain strong relationships in the art community, locally, nationally and internationally. This allows us to offer our clients unusual access to works of art in all those markets, skilled representation at auctions, expertise while performing due diligence on their behalf and broad experience for guiding  sales from their collections. We provide comprehensive collection management services including planning, procurement, acquisitions, project management (including assistance with installation, insurance, transportation, storage, appraisal and conservation efforts) and, if called upon, media relations.

We also enjoy opportunities to assist clients in developing philanthropic projects on their own or in collaboration with not-for-profit organizations. Our goal is to clarify our clients' priorities and facilitate philanthropic activities that are exciting, rewarding and valuable to our clients and their partners.

For clients developing publicly-sited artworks, we offer skilled project facilitation services and collection management consulting for public and private developers. Our goal is to design programs and projects that are successful for our clients, challenge artists to create exceptional works that propel their careers, are important additions to their sites and relevant to their communities.

Pablo Schugurensky brings over 35 years public and private art management experience to META ARTE, the consultancy he founded in 2005.

Before META ARTE, Pablo served as Director of Art Collections for Vulcan, Inc., where he represented the company's principals in the local, national and international art communities, built and managed their extensive private art collections and developed their initial public art programs. His corporate experience also includes serving as Director of the Microsoft Art Collection and as the art consultant to First and Goal Inc, creating the public art program for the Seahawks Stadium and Exhibition Center (now CenturyLink Field).

For five years Pablo led the Art in Public Places program for the Washington State Arts Commission where he administered a statewide art acquisition initiative and worked to shape public policy in support of the arts. Early in his career as a program officer for the New York State Council on the Arts, he facilitated grant processes to arts organizations serving visual artists across that state.

Most recently, Pablo served as President of the Board of Artist Trust, an nonprofit organization serving individual artists in Washington State. He has previously been a member of the Seattle Art Museum's Committee on the Collection and Olympic Sculpture Park Advisory Committee, the Henry Art Gallery's Board of Directors and Collections Committee, and the boards of the Foundation for Art Resources and Northwest Film Forum. He is a frequent panelist for international artist selections and awards programs, and is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
